SURSUM CORDA

Sursum Corda is now on its second year running, and SJBC is excited to be collaborating with COR Expeditions to lead this eight day backpacking trip in the backcountry of Wyoming.

This program is designed to challenge our boys physically and spiritually while immersing them in the magnificence of God's creation.

Program Itinerary

SC is an eight-day backpacking trip for boys 15-17 years old in the Wind River Mountain Range in Wyoming. Structured around daily Mass and spiritual discussions, each day we will hike 6-8 miles through the backcountry, carrying room and board on our backs. The boys will be divided into small teams to learn how to cook in the backcountry as well as pitch camp.

Here are some details of the trip:

• Participation is limited to 30 participants.
• For the backcountry portion of the trip, participants will be divided into two groups of 15 boys, two COR professional guides, one OLGS seminarian and one FSSP Chaplain. This division is necessary due to the group size restrictions of Wyoming's backcountry permits.

Cost

The cost will be $1075.00. This includes all food and necessary gear, except for the participants basic clothing and footwear. A packing list free gear rental form will be provided to all accepted participants. Rental for all necessary gear is included in the cost.

The Sermon on the Amount.

We have had to increase the fee for Sursum Corda 2024 compared to 2023. There are two reasons for this:

1. 2023 was our first year and we have adjusted to account for unanticipated costs.
2. This year we have added two days to the trip. This was just to make it that much more awesome, but it costs more too. Keep in mind that this fee includes all necessary gear should you choose to use provided gear, including jackets, backpacks, sleeping pads, cooking gear, etc.
